Everyday Stays · newest opened or renovated first
Everyday hotels with free breakfast or a kitchen, newest first
The practical hotels we book for work trips and road trips. We don't rank these against each other or against the luxury stays on the Board: the newest opened or most recently renovated comes first, because in this kind of hotel the age of the room is most of the story. Every stay was ours, and every rate is dated.

How this list works
| WHAT GOES HERE | Practical, select-service and extended-stay hotels: the kind the chains call Select, Focused Service or Essentials. TownePlace Suites, Courtyard, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield, Residence Inn, Hampton, Home2 Suites, Hyatt Place and their peers, once we've stayed in them |
|---|---|
| THE ORDER | Newest first, by the later of the date the hotel opened and the date its rooms were last renovated, each with its source. It is not a ranking |
| THE RATE | The cheapest night we found in the next six months on the hotel's own site, with taxes and fees, read once and dated |
| GUEST SCORE | Google and Tripadvisor combined, weighted by review count, as on every stay page |
A commission never changes the order. How we check rates.
