before you book
I'm Dr. B. I travel for work and redeem points when the trip is my own, and before every booking I did the same research: when is this room cheapest, should I pay in points or cash, and is it actually any good. Nobody put the three answers in one place, so this site does.
When to book
The same room can cost twice as much a few weeks later. The overwater villa on this site runs from $2,031 to more than $3,800 a night in the same six months. So every stay shows the cheapest night in the next six months, read on the hotel's own site, with the date it applies to, the conditions attached and the date I looked. Where a hotel doesn't sell direct, the page names the site I used instead.
How to pay
A point is worth very different amounts on different nights. Beside the cheapest cash night I show the cheapest points night, work out what each point is worth, and say whether that beats what the program's points are normally worth. Often the honest answer is to pay cash, and the page says so.
What you're walking into
One reviewer is one data point, and that includes me. So the score on every stay is the Google and Tripadvisor ratings combined, weighted by how many reviews each has, with both linked so you can check. Beside it: Tripadvisor's category ratings, what guests praise and flag, MICHELIN Keys, Forbes stars, and anything closed or under renovation. The one score that is mine is toddler fit, and it only appears on stays I made with my toddler, because nobody else rates whether an expensive room actually works with a small child.
Why faceless
I'm never on camera. It isn't a gimmick. It keeps my family out of it, and it keeps the video about the room instead of about me. Every frame on this site is my own phone footage of rooms, cabins, lounges and views. No stock photography, no hotel press images, no AI-generated rooms, ever: "real stays" is the whole promise.
Who this is for
Points-and-status travelers deciding between points and cash, and parents working out whether an expensive room actually works with a toddler. The toddler-fit score exists because nobody else publishes one, and because a crib that doesn't fit beside the bed can ruin a $600 night.
How this is paid for
