Points are the cheapest award night in the next 6 months on the program's own site. Cents per point is worked out on the room rate before tax, because an award stay still pays taxes and fees. Award space vanishes on the expensive nights: 12 Jan at $933 and 12 Mar at $639 both returned no redemption rates at all, so points are only bookable when cash was already reasonable. The $59 resort fee is charged on award nights too.
